Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Ford Explorer- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller on a 2021 Ford Explorer. Tekonsha is a well-known brand when it comes to brake controllers as well as any tow wire and for good reason. It's a great brand and the Prodigy P3 is just more proof of that. This is a really nice brake controller that has a digital screen that you can see a lot of different things and it's really easy to use. You have your manual override in a nice easy position here and it allows you to really modulate this as necessary. Where other ones, it's really just a small button. more

Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2022 Ford Transit T250- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on our 2022 Ford Transit T-250. Now, for this installation, we are gonna be utilizing the etbc 7 to give us a seven way at the back of our vehicle and allow for proper hookup of the brake controller, as well as Curt's wiring pigtail adapter and here's a look at our brake controller inside the vehicle. It just mounts up to somewhere. Inside, we chose to the right of the steering wheel so it's accessible to hit that manual override if we need it, but this is gonna be a pretty standard brake controller. It's gonna be proportional, and that's the big thing here is that, when you press the brakes in your T-250, it's going to match that output on your trailer. more

Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Ford Explorer- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at e-trailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now, this is a traditional style braking controller, which basically means that you are gonna have a unit mounted up and this one's pretty thin with the bracket, it actually fits pretty well on our explorer here. They have it in a nice spot that's easily accessible for the driver, it doesn't get in the way of anything. And this is gonna be a great brake controller. It plugs in directly to the factory tow package with the adapter harness. And really, it's super easy to gain access to your manual override, it feels really good. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty, which is gonna be a great brake controller on a 2017 Ford F-150. If you plan on pulling a trailer with trailer brakes, you are gonna need a brake controller on your vehicle, and if you don't have a factory one, adding a brake controller is very easy to do. And traditionally, you probably know the ones that kind of mount here under the dash, and you've probably hit your knees on them before. Well, REDARC's done a really good job of making a very functional, proportional braking system, all in a small package that gives you a nice clean OEM look. Now using REDARC's custom wiring harness, we we're able to get this installed, plug and play, no splicing of wires, and it's super easy to do, and it may seem like it's small, and doesn't have a readout screen like some of your other brake controllers, but not to worry, this works great. In fact, you can adjust your gain just at the turn of a knob. more

Now the biggest reason why a lot of people like the Redarc Tow Pro Elite brake controller is because of exactly what you see now. There's not much to it. You just have the control knob here and then the module itself, the brake controller will be mounted back underneath your dash wherever you find it fits best. It's better than a traditional style brake controller in my opinion because especially in the Bronco Sport you don't have room for that big box that you have to mount in a certain orientation in order for it to work properly. more

So the P3 is gonna be a great addition to your F-150 here if you don't already have a factory brake controller installed on the vehicle. So a trailer brake controller is gonna allow you to control the brakes, the electric brakes on a trailer from inside the cab of the vehicle. So all your larger trailers with those seven-way trailer connectors, most of them are gonna require an electric trailer brake controller, which is where the P3 comes into play. But before we get to that, why don't we check this out, and make sure that this is gonna be a good brake controller for your situation. When it comes to these E-Series vans, really popular in the service industry, you know, a lot of people use these as work vans, and that, you know, entails usually pulling some trailers around, right You got other equipment or, you know, running from job site to job site, hauling stuff around. And so, you know, when you're pulling that trailer, a lot of 'em are gonna be big enough to have brakes on it. more

The Prodigy P2 is gonna be a step down from the P3. The difference is this front screen here and some of the buttons and where they're located. On a P3 you're gonna have a bigger display and we're gonna have different color options and stuff. But this is just kinda be the bare-bones but not completely bare-bones 'cause we still do get a screen. more

PowerTrac is definitely gonna be the bare bones but not for even the bigger trailers that you may have. This is going to support up to two axles and there's no boot setting. Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Ford Bronco- Video
Today here at etrailer we're gonna be taking a look at a 2021 Ford Bronco, but we're gonna enable it to do more. We're putting the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller. So the Prodigy3 is gonna have a little bit more options than some of your standards but the standard type of features with the brake controller is, we're gonna have our adjustments. So it goes all the way up to 12.8, but that's for your bigger stuff and then you can go down as far as you want. You can click okay right here. And then we have a little slider which is on the bottom, a little bit different than before but you're gonna have that with all your other direct controllers, your manual override. more

This is kind of in between the bare bones brake controller, but also the higher end one. That makes it kind of in the middle of the screen in the front. Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Ford Bronco- Video
Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Echo under-dash brake controller on our 2021 Ford Bronco. This is not your typical brake controller. One, we have no neat knockers down here which is kind of annoying but also all you have to do is plug it in and hide it underneath the dash. So you don't have to look at it either. The one thing we will need to have a phone or an iPad 4 is to set up the profiles initially. We have a lighter trailer, we really don't need a whole lot of breaking to happen on the trailer. more

Draw-Tite I-Command Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Ford Bronco- Video
Today we're enabling our 2021 Ford Bronco to do a little bit more. We are taking a look at the Draw-Tite Brake Controller. This is a proportionate braking system. So whenever you're going at faster speeds, it's going to apply the brakes a little bit more. It's gonna match what you're putting on your pedal. But if you are in traffic and you press on the brakes, it's not gonna completely lock 'em up. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today in your 2017 Ford Expedition, We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Redarc's Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller. To assist us with this installation, we're also gonna be using kit ETB C7, which takes an existing 4-pole connector that's on your vehicle and convert it into a fully functioning 7-way. So let's go take a look at this Tow-Pro Elite. First thing you're gonna notice right away is when I opened the door and I got in, I didn't even bother to look for a brake controller 'cause I knew my knees weren't gonna slam on one because there's our Tow-Pro Elite right there. Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer.com. And today, we're installing and looking at the REDARC brake controller on a 2022 Ford F-250. So looking at the brake controller, you're gonna see footprint alone is what makes this stand out from other brake controllers. Many other ones you mount underneath the dash or in a location that's easily accessible, but they tend to be bulky and hang down, and you catch your legs or knees or anything in the way as you get into the truck. Also, sometimes they can be hard to actuate, whereas this one is right where I need it to be. more

Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at trailer, and today we're gonna take a look and install the Tekonsha P3 Prodigy brake controller on a 2020 Ford F-150. Now this vehicle does have the wiring harness, so you can get the pigtail specifically for this vehicle to make install easier. So this is a proportioning brake controller, meaning the amount that you apply to your vehicle will translate to the vehicle. So it's not an on and off switch, and that's gonna allow for smoother braking in your trailer and vehicle. Now, when mounting this, it's not necessary to be at any specific level, it has 360 degrees to be able to adjust to that. It's important though, that you have it facing straight in the path of travel. more

Hi there Ford owners. Today in your 2018 Ford Flex, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller. In addition to that, we're going to be using kit ETBC7 to help us get our seven way here at the back and all the wiring we need to get our brake controller up and running. Now this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. It is a quick release bracket so you can easily slide it out of there if you want to remove this. That's nice if you are in an area where maybe you want to protect your investments by hiding any of your components inside, you could easily hide this in your center console or glove box, so that way nobody knows what you got in here. more
